Prisoner Humor: Lockdown Edition
Concertina Wired Shorts
Hi again!
Recently, I mentioned receiving a couple of books that I'm thrilled to read, but lamented the lack of time for me to actually read them.
Lockdowns give me that time. :)
Now, I enjoy being locked in a toilet-bedroom hybrid with strange men as much as anyone else (does anyone? really?), but a three day lockdown will give me plenty of time to read.
I choose to be thankful, though. Our facility has air conditioning, and it is definitely working again. Several days ago, it had stopped, and the walls were wet, the floor was soaked, and we can't crack a window in here. You could feel the temperature difference between the hallway, the dorm pod, and again into the cells.
Locking down in those conditions would be actively endangering our lives, for there is no air circulation at all. We don't even get fans in our dormitories.
So, whatever foolishness has transpired here at Blessington, at least it waited until we were back in relative coolness.
I will wait a little before I start reading again, though.
Did find out who sent the books, though, and I owe them a direct thanks. :)
For now... naptime.
Later, I'm sure it'll be a strip search and a ransacking of my property.
Blessington, as always, is the fictitious name of the facility in which Jayel is housed. This name swap is intended for their protection.
