X.location and Jayel
Hi, readers.
I saw in the Newsstand app this morning that ๐ has added a new location 'feature' to accounts. For those of you who follow me and my blog on that platform, I point out an inaccuracy of trust issue here:
I can quite solidly assure you that I am located in Florida, held at a Department of Corrections private vendor camp in a tiny town that we refer to as Blessington in my posts to provide me a small level of anonymity. My maintainer is located elseworld, and is the one who receives my messages, formats them nice-like for your viewing, and feeds them into MkDocs so you get to read my brain noises.
Some people live in places where social media is a no-go for whatever reason. Maybe they live where saying anything other than what their government approves of can put them at risk of
or having someone appear with a stick of headshot seasoning, screaming unintelligibly and threatening their family.
While there may be some reasoning to turn this "feature" on unannounced, it worked better when I could tell you where I am at my discretion, not whatever this is.
Ah well. Can't fi๐ stupid, Mom always said.
